Agenda Item: Discussion of the Bylaw change for membership dues at the January general meeting.

The President's Corner : 

  The new log walls are complete in the pistol bays. Sids crew did a assume job. Please help us let people know they aren't to put there targets on the walls. Bay 6 will be closed for awhile.

   We still have people that try to shoot from the shade covers in the bays. We found two bays this week with cans shot on the ground from the covered area. We don't shoot ground targets. ( cans,balls, Etc. ) Let people know know about these rule changes. Help us let people know they need to be beyond signs to shoot & targets need to be ALL the way in back of the bays.

   2008 Annual Club Dinner

  This year we will be having our Annual Dinner on Saturday, March 29th, 2008 in the new Matazal Casino Banquet Room. The banquet room is three times larger then the old room. We will have round tables with a lot more room to move around and set up raffle items. Tickets are on sale for $20.00 per person, and can be obtained from any Board Officer of you can use the form attached to the Newsletter to mail in your tickets. We are having an Early Bird Raffle for all members who send in their money for tickets prior to March 1st, 2008. All tickets ordered by mail and received between March 1st and our deadline date of March 21st can be picked up at the dinner registration desk. All tickets sold will be eligible for door prizes at the dinner.

  WE ARE LOOKING FOR DONATIONS TO BE USED AS BUCKET AND SILENT AUCTION ITEMS. dONATIONS CAN BE ANY TYPE. iF YOU HAVE DONATIONS PLEASE CONTACT ONE OF THE BOARD oFFICERS.            

  We also need some help at the Annual Dinner to assist with the raffle items or other duties. If you would like to help please contact Otto Weeden or Vern Leis.

Scheduled Bylaw for Membership Dues---

          With all the improvements on the Jim Jones shooting Range, upkeep and maintenance of all facilities has increased about % 200 and so has the cost. We are submitting a Bylaw change to increase the membership fees to $ 50.00 per year starting 2008. We are also going to change the membership calendar date from July to January of each year. The Bylaw draft Article IV, section b) would be changed to the following;

Article IV --Dues

b) Account statements shall be sent to each member in early December. Payment by January 1st is expected for membership renew. ( Contingent statement: Change in date is to match the TRSC accounting period and new IRS reporting rules. Dues payment change over date will start July 1st 2008 and will be $ 25.00 for the remainder of the year. Membership dues for 2009 will be $ 50.00 and will be due january 1st of 2009. )

FYI:

  The Women's Outing for May 2, 3, & 4th, 2008 is to be held at the Houston Mesa Campgrounds for the Camping and The Jim Jones Range for shooting. Bow instructions will be included. This will be an instructional weekend to introduce women to the fun of outdoor and range activities.

    The Arizona State Black Powder Championship will be held on May 15 through 18 , 2008 at The Jim Jones Shooting Range. This event is sanctioned by the Single Action Shooting Society ( SASS ). The sponsoring clubs are The Tonto Rim Marauders and Tonto Rim Sports Club.
