RIM SPORTS CLUB:
The Tonto Rim Sports
Club was established in 1979, and is affiliated with the National
Rifle Association, the Civilian Marksmanship Program, and
the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association.
The purpose of the
Club is to educate and encourage organized shooting among
United States citizens of the area, with a focus on better
knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms,
as well as improved marksmanship. It is a further purpose
of the Club to foster the development of those characteristics
of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and
self-reliance. These are the essentials of good sportsmanship
and the foundation of patriotism.
The Club is a Not-for-Profit
Corporation organized under IRC Section 501(c)(4). The Club
maintains and manages the Jim Jones
Shooting Range, and has provided the range improvements.
The Club currently
has over 600 individual and family memberships. The Club produces
a monthly newsletter and provides a number of invitational
organized monthly competitions. The Club has regular Monthly
Meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at
the Payson American Legion building, and all guests are welcome.
Any citizen of the United States may
become a member of the Club by completing a membership
application, subscribing to the NRA Pledge, completing
a signed range orientation form with a Range Safety Officer,
and payment of annual dues. |
