  • Who is included the membership?
    Your membership includes everyone in your immediate family i.e. husband, wife, and all children under the age of 18 years old.
  • How much does it cost?
    The membership fee is $100.00 for the year, January 1, to December 31st, no prorating is provided. Please bring cash or check.
  • Where is the range located?
    The range is located on 80 acres south of Payson, Arizona on National Forest Systems Land and operated under a joint agreement with the Tonto National Forest, Payson Ranger District and the Gila County Range Commison. Click here for more directions. The address is: Nf-375B, Payson, AZ 85541
  • When is it open?
    7 days a week for members. Non-members 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays at the 100 yard range only. No access to pistol bays nor long distance range. Call the range hot line for current conditions and closures due to weather or fire restrictions at 928-970-1766.
  • What shooting disciplines do you offer?
    The Jim Jones Shooting Range offers the following shooting disciplines: 1. Archery 2. Practical 22 Shooting 3. USPSA 4. Steel Challenge 5. Action Shooting 6. Ladies Day 7. High Power 8. Small Bore 9. Basic Practical Tactical 10. Deaf, Old, & Blind
  • How many guests can a member bring to the range?
    2 guests are allowed.
  • How much does it cost for a non-member to shoot?
    There is a $10 fee for non-members. Youth under 18 are free. A TRSC Release and Hold Harmless Form must be signed by a parent in order for any youth under 18 to shoot.
  • What are the requirements for a youth under 18 to shoot?
    A TRSC Release and Hold Harmless Form must be signed by a parent in order for any youth under 18 to shoot. The form is available for download here. In addition the youth must be supervised at all times by an adult.

The Tonto Rim Sports Club, Inc. was established in 1979 and is affiliated with the National Rifle Association, and the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association.


The purpose of the Club is to educate and encourage organized shooting among United States citizens of the area, with a focus on better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. It is a further purpose of the Club to foster the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play, and self-reliance. These are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of patriotism.
